Touch-optimized on-screen keyboard with file transfer capability.

As a part of my internship at Vizetto, I created an on-screen keyboard that is optimized for touch-screen devices. I had tailored the design to match the UI of the company's touchscreen software, called "Reactiv Suite". On top of that, I had also worked on fixing bugs pertaining to the company's already-made remote keyboard feature, which allows file transfers between any devices located on the same network. Finally, I merged the on-screen keyboard and the remote keyboard features together.

Algorithmic Trader

Leverages computational resources of computers relative to human traders.

As an avid investor and day trader, it made sense to combine my passions of software development and stock trading by creating a software that utilizes the speed and computational resources of computers. The program centers around the trading strategy known as trend following, which entails purchasing a stock when a stock’s price trend goes up and selling a stock when the stock’s price trend goes down. This takes into consideration the price, money management, risk control, rules, and diversification.

Wet Driving Mode

Automotive inclement weather detection system.

As a part of my dev challenge for the McMaster EcoCar Challenge, my dev challenge team and I created an inclement weather-detection system. There are two main parts of this system – a windshield visual rain sensor and a physical water sensor.

The windshield visual check is based off the concept of total internal reflection, in that an infrared light is projected into the windshield and then the critical angle between the infrared light and the car’s windshield is measured. The different measurements provided by this corresponds to different weather conditions because, the critical angle will be different depending on if the windshield is clean or has anything on it, such as rain or snow.

The physical water sensor is mounted in the car’s wheel well and signals that there is water on the road when it detects any water. When no water is detected, the dry mode is active. When the sensor detects water for more than a few seconds (a buffer is implemented to avoid excessive amounts of false positives), wet mode is activated.

Time Attack Infinti G37

Modified for heavy track-usage

Substantial modifications were made to the Infiniti G37 for the purpose of optimizing it for track-usage. The work was predominately performed by myself but occasionally, I had outsourced the goodwill of friends to aid me in preparing the car. On top of that, lots of maintenance was required to keep the car running reliably. The key modifications made are as follows:

Exterior: Relays were added to the taillights so that the brake lights would function as both the brake lights and the turn signals. This was particularly useful on the racetrack, however also beneficial during street-use, because the factory turn signal was hard to see, compared to the brake lights.

Lamborghini Huracán

August 2019

Diagnosing and fixing unusual issues.

Right after passing 20,000kms on the odometer and right after exhausting the factory warranty some concerning issues had arisen. The car started throwing fault codes pertaining to the front lift system, emissions systems, and catalyst system. On top of that, the battery had either gone bad or there was some sort of parasitic battery drain (these cars are known to have a lot of parasitic draw), and the car stopped recognizing the key FOB. One or more of these issues was preventing the car from starting. To remedy this, a series of ECU resets were performed to clear the codes (my on-hand OBD II scanner could not clear these fault codes) and the battery was connected to a trickle charger.

Fastest Lexus RC-F

July 2019 - Present

Performs the quickest lap time at TMP.

Current track record-holder for fastest Lexus RC-F around the Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) road course. The only modification done to the car has been EBC Yellowstuff front brake pads. Lots of seat time was required to set this record.
